Scott's research agenda focuses on how technology impacts the relationship between design and policy. He is interested in addressing how design can improve public sector services and experiences by making them more sustainable, human-centered, participatory, evidence-based, and systems-oriented. While leveraging technology, this agenda focuses on understanding how design principles, methods, strategies, and tools can be adapted and applied to the unique contexts and challenges faced by rural communities.
